Let who could know more about this talented designer. What inspired you to take this profession? As a child, I always tend toward the artistic in me. I used to love the color, shape and fabric, and after finishing school, I am sure that I’ve become an artist or designer. I always want to associate themselves with art and fashion from art and co-related, I love my job. First you break … Igot my first break in Olive in New Delhi.

I grateful to those who Olives families in their faith in me and allowing me to represent my work together with big names from the industry such as Nikhil-Shantanu, Ranna Gill and Manish Malhotra. I launched my label – Nida Mahmood in 2006 and in 2007 received an invitation from Lakme Fashion Week Gennext and exhibited my first collection. Your design philosophy …

My design sensibility back to the art of words. All I do is based on the arts whether it is to write something for every publication, designing clothes or paintings. Your views on the current void in the fashion industry … I must admit that the Indian fashion industry evolved. There are some problems though. I hope that they will get efficient. The people in the industry is very dedicated but very unfortunate that we are unable to bring out our talents in the vanguard.

Finally fashion week in Delhi … Comment. Whatever has happened,I support it. This is a good idea, and especially good for buyers. Now they do not have to balance between the two fashion weeks. This will give a reasonable explanation for our fashion industry. Better to forget your differences and move together. Designers died for you?

John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood are my two favorite designers. But I also adore Marc Jacobs for collection of chic and cool. Future plans … I tried to come out with a lot of things by next season, about which I do not want to reveal much. But yes, I plan to launch my parallel labels.

There some interesting things in the pipeline. I’m trying to revive one of the dying art collection in the next season. Advice for novice designers … I feel styling is very important. Someone had to step out of the box and must be created that reflects their views. If you come out with new ideas, you will be recognized for a long time, although it may take some timebefore people can absorb them.
